All About Hannah's
Home of the East Coast Famous BBQueensWelcome to Hannahs!
They’re talking about Hannah’s as far up as Maine and at least as far down as Georgia. Here at Hannah’s Train Depot, a restaurant where the atmosphere is carefree and the food is guaranteed to satisfy, we have heard the word has traveled far and wide.
With everything from fresh East Coast seafood to our Appalachian BBQ, from our delicious grilled or deli style sandwiches to our belly filling dinner platters, there’s good reason why the Appalachian Trail has been a buzz. But you don’t have to be on the trail to find yourself in our little red caboose. If you call the Tri-State area your home, or just find yourself moseying through, our friendly and light-hearted staff will make sure you leave happy and very full!
Down here in Historical Harpers Ferry, our family friendly restaurant is itself family owned and operated by three generations of executive chef as home grown as the Blue Ridge. The red and yellow train car is under new management as of Spring 2009, but the new crew is about as new to the area as the train car itself, which made its way onto Potomac St. way back in 1911. Father & Son team Greg & Galen Gough have not only a long list of experience with many respected executive chefs and as being executive chefs themselves, but a long history with Jefferson County and Harpers Ferry itself.
Greg Gough has deep ties to the area working for the Clarion, Cliffside, Cindy Dee’s and Spice Garden, with a talent for Seafood; even helping start the warmly remembered Seafood Buffet at Cliffside Inn. But the ties go deeper than that. Greg has worked closely with local and national charities as a coordinator and promoter starting Animals Jams for the Animal Welfare Society, putting together a fund for Willow Broke Homeless Shelter, and starting the Tiger Hop Annual Car Show for the Harpers Ferry High School Alumni Association. And we have a strong connection to Harpers Ferry itself, where Greg was park of the National Promotion Board of the 50th Anniversary of the Harpers Ferry as a National Park. But don’t forget Hannah! She’s “the boss” and a future executive pastry chef in training (making up her no-bake cookies and cupcakes).
So with Hannah at the helm, the Train Depot is here to provide you an experience that doesn’t skimp on quality food or fun at the expense of those just passing through our well know town. So if you haven’t heard what they’ve been saying, we’ll let you know, “You ain’t half-way on the Appalachian Trail till you’ve visited Hannah’s!” And if the trails in your backyard and you haven’t been in, well, where have you been?
